Senior Associate

Sophia is the Head of Trading and Operations at J. Stern & Co., Malta. She is responsible for day to day operations of the Firm’s funds. She also assists senior management with the administrative and operational functions as well as with risk management and business development of the Maltese-based activities of the Firm.

Sophia builds on over 20 years of banking experience at various positions. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked for FIMBank plc, Malta, focusing on relationship and operational management of structured and commodity finance customers, primarily located in Europe and the MENA region. She was also overseeing the syndicated loans portfolio of the bank. Sophia also gained vast knowledge in fund structures during her tenure at the bank.

A Bulgarian citizen, Sophia has a Master’s degree in International Business Relations from the University of Economics, Bulgaria. She is fluent in Bulgarian, English, French and has working knowledge of Russian.
